- Surface preparation & application
- Recommended over hand- and power-tool cleaned steel; being self-priming, no separate primer is needed. Mix base and hardener 4:1; thin with Gemguard Epoxy Thinner 5-20%. Surface must be clean and free from oil, dust and loose particles. Paint only on a dry surface, with the object's temperature well above the dew point, to avoid bubbles/pin holes. Avoid over-thick or over-thinned application, high heat/wind and cold surfaces - these cause orange peel, wrinkling and sagging.
