- Surface preparation & application
- Use over an Epoxy/PU primer as part of the recommended system (Gemcryl PU Primer is listed in the range). Mix base and hardener exactly at the ratio printed for your variant; thin with Gemcryl PU Thinner 0-10%. Surface must be clean and free from oil, dust and loose particles. Recommended system: primer coat (respective thinner, 10-20% dilution, recoat 6-8 h, 120-160 sq.ft/coat) -> Astral Gem Paints KPF Putty for cracks/dents (4-6 h, sand with 180 emery) -> primer again -> 2 top coats (0-20% dilution, recoat 6-8 h). A 3rd coat is optional for dark shades where 2 coats do not hide well. Paint only on a dry surface, with the object's temperature well above the dew point, to avoid bubbles/pin holes. Avoid over-thick or over-thinned application, high heat/wind and cold surfaces - these cause orange peel, wrinkling and sagging.
